Rangi Ruru Girls’ School
Rangi Ruru Girls’ School is one of the top girls’ schools in New Zealand. We have a proud 125 year history with a focus on excellence and achievement.
We offer a broad curriculum to girls in Years 7-13 that is personalised to each girl to ensure she is given the tools and skills she need to achieve her goals. This includes pathways to tertiary education both in New Zealand and overseas.
Our classes are small (no more than 25 girls) which means that students who do not have English as their first language can study in mainstream classes and not be separated. These girls have personalised ESOL support programmes developed to suit their needs. Senior students also have the option of preparing for international examinations such as IELTS, SAT or TOEFL.
The school also offers a wide range of sporting, cultural and creative activities and has a reputation for fostering musical and sporting talents. We are the only girls’ school in the South Island with a specialist Equestrian Programme allowing girls the opportunity to learn to ride or further their equine ambitions.
International students at Rangi Ruru may either live in the modern onsite boarding house or in a homestay with a school-approved New Zealand family.
